Perplexed? Read on…
On a ride in Spring 2010 we came up with the idea of a chip shop FNR. Probably take place in the autumn after the clocks have changed back (will they this year?)
So the ride would be a ride around the city to chip shops mainly in the dark, with the yellow lights and greasy, moist warmth of the chip shops to look forward to,
at each chip shop we stop and get one or two large bags of chips (depending on the number of riders) and we would have a chip or two each and remark upon the quality then ride on to the next one and so on …. until we have done about 15 miles and then we go to the pub

We need you to nominate a chip shop or shops that you think has chips worth sampling
and we also need the times they close on a Friday night as rides often go on to 10 or just after.
There will need to be a recce ride (yum, yum) and we can arrange for chips to be ready so we don’t have to hang about in the queues – even put Sheffield FridayNightRide posters up in the shops – yes!

Sheffield FridayNightRide on the radio: There was a radio slot about Sheffield FNR broadcast Friday 12 March 2010 on Sheffield Live! A podcast is at this address
http://www.sheffieldlive.org/podcast/index.php?id=3036
Harry who has been on a couple of rides and volunteers for the radio station made it and it sounds jolly good (I love radio documentary); so many thanks Harry
If you download it and spin through to about minute 28.00 there is then a 20 minute item about the ride on 5 March 2010 about the Women’s Movement in Sheffield with talk from the ride stops and interviews with riders.
If you want I have the extract as an mp3 file and can email it to you but it is 20Mb. Email me at sheffieldfridaynightride@googlemail.com if you want a copy
Its too big to put up on this website.
Enjoy!

Cheer yourself up before the next ride – take a dekko at this

Fraternal/Sororal Rides: There is a London FridayNightRide www.fridaynightride.com (where I was inducted into the experience)

I could maybe see if the London FridayNightRide wants to do a fraternal ride sometime in Sheffield and we could visit London and do a nightride there

“FridayNightRiders of the World Unite!”

Anybody want to do this?

Mick
